White House announces Iran nuclear deal is the way to bring down gas prices

The White House continues to take criticism not only for the high gas prices still plaguing the entire country, but also for their lack of viable solutions to begin to bring the prices back to less-insane levels.

That was evidenced once again this week as John Kirby, the National Security Council spokesman, said the White House believes that rescuing a nuclear deal with Iran might be the best method to knock gas prices back down some, Fox News reported

When asked if he agreed with another administration official’s insistence that a nuclear deal with Iran could bolster global oil supply, thus bringing down gas prices, Kirby seemed to fully agree.

“Well, look, I mean, there’s obviously a tangential, potentially tangential benefit,” Kirby said during a Fox News interview on Tuesday.

It was Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman who made the original assertion that such a deal would help with gas prices.

She made the remarks earlier this month during an interview at the International Student House of Washington.

“They would get sanctions relief,” Sherman said at the time, referring to Iran. “They would improve their economy and sell their oil again, and the world needs their oil, so they could get a good price for it. It’s all in their interest to do this.”

Critics of the idea, and other ideas that the administration has floated with regard to essentially asking for increased oil production from regimes like Iran and Venezuela, include top energy industry executives.

Jason Modglin, president of Texas Alliance of Energy Producers, shared his take on the approach, an approach with which he clearly strongly disagrees.

“It is a lot simpler to consult with US oil and natural gas producers on ways to increase production to meet growing global demand than the administration’s ethical and geopolitical contortions with totalitarian regimes,” Modglin said.

Other than the possibility of a federal gas tax holiday, which would save American consumers roughly $35 over the remainder of year, the Biden administration hasn’t gone on record, yet, with a solid plan on how to reduce the crippling national average price of a gallon of gasoline.

  1. Wow! It’s official, these morons have gone from stupid to insane. You’d have to be a total idiot to not know who’s behind this fiasco. This has Obozo written all over it for sure!

  2. The Iran deal wasn’t worth the paper it was printed on when Kerry signed it. It accelerated Iran getting to nuclear weapons. Any deal now would be of no use to anybody in the world except Iran. Obama & biden are Iran sympathizers. They should sanction the heck out of Iran. No good comes from negotiating with them. Just let’s them stall, they are evil.
