WH: We will transition to clean energy regardless of SCOTUS even if they want to ‘hold us back’

According to White House national climate advisor Gina McCarthy, who made this claim on Thursday’s episode of CNN’s “The Lead,” President Biden’s climate goals can still be pursued by the EPA despite what the Supreme Court may say.

McCarthy also vowed that “we will see the transition to clean energy, regardless of the Supreme Court.” And that “We’re going to keep moving forward, even though the Supreme Court would like to look backward and hold us back.”

The decision, according to McCarthy, “did limit the ability of the EPA to use one section of the Clean Air Act in a way they had used to tackle the climate crisis.”

She added, “but it did not prevent them from acting in a regulatory way. And this president is fully committed to moving forward to tackle the climate crisis, and he’s using bold steps throughout the whole government in order to get that done. And so, we will see the transition to clean energy, regardless of the Supreme Court.”

She subsequently went on to say that the ruling, “took away one small authority we had, and it sent some signals about what the Supreme Court might do in the future. But right now, we have full authority to get and move forward and achieve the president’s goals.”

McCarthy continued, “Look, the private sector isn’t sitting around, twiddling its thumbs, worried about one provision in the Clean Air Act. It’s worried about moving forward to capture the clean energy market of today. … So, we’re not giving up. We’re actually going to double down. And we know that we have the legal authority.”

Gina added, “And frankly, we have the mandate of the people in the United States and across the world who want to address this challenge of climate change and do it in a way that makes positive improvements in our lives.”

She concluded, “This is about protecting public health. This is about advancing the interests of our families and our workers. We’re going to keep moving forward, even though the Supreme Court would like to look backward and hold us back.”

  1. Oh such bullshit. This administration should be locked up in a looney bin with the keys thrown away!!! I thought the president was there to keep our country safe and prosperous. He has almost brought us to the brink of a third world country. The whole administration looks like they went to a nursing home to recruit their administration . Unfortunately they went to the dementia floor to get them

  3. Exactly… what climate crisis…there isn’t one… government wastes $200,000 or $200,000,000 every year for nothing…we don’t need electric vehicles or want them… I mean who can buy a $60,000 car that needs five hour charging time….tires that have to be replaced multiple times a year to the tune of $28,000… Have to have a charging station installed at home…not to mention the battery that costs$10,000 to replace…sounds like alot of nothing…do something else with that money to make a real difference for the good of Americans…this is all BS even climate experts that aren’t bought off say there’s only .001% change in the last “X” number of years…like 20 years… it’s all another scam!!!
