President Joe Biden has denied on multiple occasions that he’s not familiar with any of his son, Hunter Biden’s, various foreign business deals, especially those concerning players in China.
However, according to the New York Post, a voicemail recording surfaced this week of Joe Biden leaving a message for his son, in which he references a New York Times piece about Hunter Biden’s Chinese business dealings, with Joe Biden saying toward the end that he believes Hunter is “clear.”
The recording was allegedly taken from Hunter Biden’s laptop, from a cell phone voicemail backup contained on the computer, the Post noted. The voicemail was left by then-Vice President Joe Biden in 2018.
Critics argue that Joe Biden’s perpetual insistence that he’s not familiar with his son’s foreign business transactions is now proven to be 100% false, according to what the elder Biden said in the voicemail.
“Hey pal, it’s Dad,” Joe Biden said. “It’s 8:15 on Wednesday night. If you get a chance, just give me a call. Nothing urgent. I just wanted to talk to you.”
The senior Biden added: “I thought the article released online, it’s going to be printed tomorrow in the Times, was good. I think you’re clear. And anyway if you get a chance, give me a call, I love you.”

A 2019 tweet by The Hill shows a video in which then-candidate Joe Biden vowed that he had no knowledge of Hunter’s dealings, which was one of many instances of making the claim — either himself or through his top advisers like Jen Psaki and Ron Klain.
Joe Biden: “I’ve never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings. Here’s what I know — I know Trump deserves to be investigated… You should be looking at Trump. Trump’s doing this because he knows I’ll beat him like a drum.” https://t.co/yrMdiaBli8 pic.twitter.com/yGhipRo1ew

Republicans are already seizing on the newly-released voicemail, including New York Rep. Elise Stefanik (R).
“Joe Biden said he ‘never spoke’ with Hunter about his business dealings. That is simply not true. We need to know what Joe Biden knew and when he knew it,” she said, according to the Post.
Stefanik added: “This voicemail is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the evidence mounting against the Biden Crime Family. When Republicans take back Congress, we will use our congressional power of oversight to uncover the truth for every American as a matter of national security.”
