Democratic Sen. Schumer taking donations from company still operating in Russia

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has taken donations from International Paper PAC despite the group still doing business in Russia.

Oregon Democratic Sen. Ron Wyden has also reportedly received donations from the group, according to the Daily Caller.

The report comes even after the two senators slammed Koch Industries for continuing to operate in Russia.

“Koch Industries is shamefully continuing to do business in Putin’s Russia and putting their profits ahead of defending democracy. The noxious stench of Trump still hangs over Koch Industries.

“As the democracies of the world make huge sacrifices to punish Russia for Putin’s illegal and vicious invasion of Ukraine, Koch Industries continues to profit off of Putin’s regime. It is time for Koch Industries to put the values of democracy ahead of its own profits. We are calling on Koch Industries to immediately suspend their operations in Russia,” they said in a statement.

The Daily Caller listed a long line of political action groups still donating to Democrats in 2022 with connections to Russia.

The disturbing contrast marks a new low in the controversy of stopping Russia’s aggression toward Ukraine.
